Its Bob but does anyone know why? I think that was a studio demo used for that BBC session. There is another version of In My Chair which has the same "Demo" quality to it. Bob was probably singing a guide vocal for them while they were concentrating on playing. Somehow that version got released to the BBC who played it as a session.

If its the same version I'm thinking of its R Lynes. That's on a '92 cd, Status Quo - The Early Years, released on Dojo label (EARL D 8), sleeve notes by Garry Fielding of the Quo fan club at the time

I had that CD as well and there were other mistakes in the blurb. I cannot remember exactly as I sold that CD years ago. Roy Lynes singing voice was completely different.

Heard that song before, but didn't notice what a great singing voice he had.

Thanks for clearing that up mate, I would have been very surprised if it had indeed been RL, as I can't recall any other mention of that "fact" anywhere else other than in those cd sleeve notes, (always assumed Quo's 'official fan clubs(s)') actually researched facts like this before printing on product releases! Silly me, cheers

Silly me, cheers I should think the fan club had the right info. More likely the record company made a mistake. I don't know of them anymore, I had a CD with a glaring error in the blurb. It said Francis and Rick formed the band in 1962 along with Alan and John. However it also said that in 1967 Rick Harrison joined the band after seeing them at Butlins 2 years before. The basic points were all there but completely mixed up.

Roy also did some vocals on the Everley's cover "Bird Dog" which i think was recorded for BBC Radio by The Spectres.
