My dad bought it as a 2 tape set with vol 1. He bought it cause it was on offer and though wasnt a big fan he knew the songs. However when I heard it something went ping and a new lifelong fan was born. So both 12 Gold Bars albums mean a lot to me.

Like many, I suspect, I bought it cheap as much to replace 12 Gold Bars as to acquitre Vol II. Although it was marketed as getting Vol I free when you bought Vol II, it was really the other way 'round!
I thought the cover was good but it should have been the cover for the live album that was never released from Milton Keynes.

Kind of need to buy it to add to the collection. However, every time I come close to buying it, on the likes of Amazon, I get a reality check when I look at the awful track list and cannot bring myself to order it !

Yeah, I bought it, volume II was never going to be as good as the first 12 gold bars, as IMO the best greatest hits package by anyone, as the title stated, 12 gold bars, shame that Roll Over Lay Down wasn't the live '75 version. 12 Gold Bars II should of been called, 12 Gold Plated Bars.

Don't Drive My Car and Caroline (live) were about it really.

I reckon someone at Vertigo caught on to the fact that 12GB2 alone would have probably bombed without including 12GB1 in the package

Yep, I bought both volume II and the I+II version. Just for the collection, never listened to them as far as I can remember

Hi All, I have it but IMHO an album called 'A Few Bars More' is far better...... Geoff.
