Just the thought of Laurel and Hardy makes me smile.
Never liked Morecambe and Wise though. Just didn't find them funny. The Two Ronnies were far superior IMO.

<<<--- On Topic.... What about: I actually like Rick's sense of humour but Francis usually makes me cringe when he tries to be funny.

Always great comedy with Laurel & Hardy. Also like Gene Wilder & Richard Prior, Terence Hill & Bud Spencer.

Laurel & Hardy will never be equalled let alone surpassed. The crash bang wallop is funny enough but the subtle stuff is beyond anything on film.My favourite is Big Business.I see lots of stuff that is supposed to be brilliant but only copies the titans of the silent and early sound era, even serious stuff, watch Breaking Bad and the show takes on a whole new shape if you occasionally whisper 'well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into'

The last ever picture of one of the best ever comedy duos It is hard to surpass those two, and Morecambe and Wise. But do our Antipodean, North American & Continental European pals even know who Morecambe and Wise are?
Yes I remember them.

Hi All, Believe it or not Cannon and Ball live were good laugh their TV persona was very PC but I'll always remember seeing them at was the Coventry Hippodrome/Theatre. An Indian woman came up to the bottom of the stage for them to sign something and they took the micky out of her all the way from the back to the stage very funny but would not be very acceptable todays PC troubled world.
Not every body's cup of tea I know but it was at the height of their fame then there is Peter Cook and Dudley Moore/Hale and Pace/Morecambe and Wise also the Two Ronnies (both already mentioned) there really has not been any comedy duo's that come close these days...
Geoff.
