I really like this song, it's sits perfectly on the album between What To Do and Bye Bye Johnny. Ripped off by Enya with her lush sounding production.

This may have been seen the filler track on the album but it needed one of these slower ballads on it. I think this kind of song played to Rick’s strengths really we had previously Everything, All the reasons, Lonely man and after For you, Living on an Island. They suited his voice better than some of the uptempo rock stuff. Big fat mama, Rain and Mystery song all went well in that aspect but wish later on he could have written more slower ones for albums.

It is indeed a wonderful song.
Definately makes it into my Quo ballad top ten . I havent got a top ten to be fair, but it would do!

Certainly is. And what a magical time that was to adore Quo. Down Down, followed by the incredible Roll Over Lay Down, then Quo flew all the way to my city of Canberra in Australia. A mere 10 minute drive to see the greatest rock n roll band on the planet. Here I am almost 50 years later still a Quo fan.

Luv that Quo can put some Lighter songs with the heavy ones, no other band do that.

Not for me.
The last four tracks on OTL are superfluous IMO.

Being used on Where I am. I was pointing out your incorrect possessive apostrophe. I'll get my coat....

Being used on Where I am. I was pointing out your incorrect possessive apostrophe. I'll get my coat.... Not a banjo then. Just a progressive apocrypha, I could have sworn it was a banjo.

I get where railroad007 is coming from. There is a sort of banjo type sound in there. Presumably just the type of geetar someone was using or to do with the production. Or some such. Anyway, yes great song. I'm no expert and can't read music but it sounds like it's basically a blues. Using the blues scale throughout. Which is probably why I liked it even when I was only 16. Ballads at that age were considered, eh, what's the new millennium word for it? There probably isn't one. Not one that wouldn't cause offence to someone, somewhere in the known universe. And we can't have that. Not in Scotland anyway. Not now I notice someone mentioned Quo's top 10 ballads. Now that's what I call a challenge. Finding 10 Quo ballads that I'd actually listen to
