Just for fun what would be on quos alternative universe worst songs compilation
Mine would be something like this
1. Tango 2. Sail away 3. Tommys in love 4. Speechless 5. Going down for the first time 6. Fun fun fun 7. Restless 8. Throw her a line 9. Bula quo 10. Familiar blues 11. The madness 12. Fiji time
I must admit looking at that load of shite it makes you realise how low the low points really are. I’ve listened to bula quo once. I couldn’t even tell you what was on it I don’t think apart from a few

Unfortunately there’s no need for an ‘alternative universe’ at all - they really did/do do this shite! 🙄

1. One For The Money 2. Another Shipwreck 3. I Know You're Leaving 4. Restless 5. Confidence 6. Sherri Don't Fail Me Now 7. Jealousy 8. Speechless 9. Win Or Lose 10. Can't Be Done 11. Mystery Island 12. Fiji Time
After a quick scan through I've gone with this, although I might change it. I've left off 1960's Quo and the covers albums, but did add two from Bula Quo, although feel a bit guilty because I know they were for a film and not really to be taken that seriously, but they did write and record them and let's be clear, they could have written and recorded in any style they wanted, so maybe it's fair game!
Anyway, I honestly never play any of these tracks that I've selected and think they are all weak Quo tracks, mainly how they sound and have been recorded, not always the actual songs per se!
I don't know what One For The Money is trying to be, but it's not my cup of tea at all and genuinely think it's probably one of the worst tracks post 1985 Quo have recorded. I know You're Leaving just sounds like it should have been recorded by Take That or some 1990's boy band sitting on stools with microphones and no guitars, not saying it's a really bad song, just don't like how Quo presented it, but if you like 1990's boy bands, then I'm sure you will love it.
The rest I just find weak, bland, lazy or a bit too plastic or poppy for Quo in my opinion.

So far there's one or two bites of chocolate I like in each list..
Heres a challenge - can anybody come up with 10 that everyone agrees with?

I really like Fiji Time. Just saying But it demonstrates a versatility I didn't think they had. This was ska and it sounded like it! Although what ska had to do with Fiji we'll put to one side, shall we? As it happens, Sail Away is also a bit of a guilty pleasure. I doubt we'd get 12 tracks we all agree on. But any list that doesn't include Tango, Restless and Tommy (either one) isn't worth considering. I see The Madness is on that first list. That's interesting. I love it! In fact, 4 on that list I either like or don't mind at all. Such is the nature of subjectivity

I could have left off half of my list and could have gone in a slightly different direction, but we needed 12, so had to be ruthless!!! You might feel guilty about throwing some of the runts of the litter under the bus, covering them with a towel and hitting them with a hammer while you try not to look, but if you want to save the band and yourself, then it's got to be done, however painful. In terms of 10-12 we could all agree on, check back in a month or so and count the votes, whatever wins, wins. I don't think some are really bad songs, just overall, how they sound, how they are presented and how they stand up next to most of Quo's other output helped nail a few for me.

Tango would not be on the list for most Latin-American Quo fans.

Seems an almost impossible exercise after 1981 - I wouldn't be able to decide what to exclude! So, I've just looked at 1970-81, which is a bit more of a challenge:
Everything
Tune to the Music
Joanne
You Lost the Love
Baby Boy
I'm Giving Up My Worryin’
Stones
Come Rock with Me
Rockin' On
Rock N Roll
Falling in Falling Out
Long Ago

That list certainly brings some balance to the table!

Tango would not be on the list for most Latin-American Quo fans. Millions of voters will be neglected.

For what it's worth, these are 12 Quo songs I will probably never play again. 1,000 YearsRestlessMountain Lady
I Love Rock And RollJealousyGoing Downtown Tonight (either version; you cannot polish a turd even with a guitar solo) Tommy's In Love (as above) Sorry
Tango
Sherri Don't Fail Me Now
Confidence
Beautiful
I'd have included I Wonder Why IF it was Quo that recorded it. I've never been sure. And I haven't included any from the covers albums or we'd be into Volume VII Not unexpectedly I suppose, half of them come from the Thirsty Work sessions. But the early 80's albums don't get off Scot free. Hand on heart, I don't think I could pick any tracks from the 70's. Heat isn't a great album but every track is better for me than anything I've listed here.
