I read in today's Sunday Times that Mr Rossi is to appear in a Kemp brothers ( Spandau Ballet) mockumentary. It's on Friday 29th December BBC2 10pm. It's called All Gold.

I saw a bit of the first one as well. I actually stumbled on it and wondered what was going on! They were sat round a table with a few actors (I specifically remember Daniel Mays) talking about the plot of a movie or something. It was a bit odd but obviously they were taking the pi$$ out of themselves. It didn't seem particularly funny but then that was the only bit I watched. Anyone notice that Francis is getting more involved in telly stuff since Rick has gone? It's like keeping the band in the limelight is now his job. Rick used to do all manner of nonsense. But I suspect not because he felt he had to. He just liked being on telly

Do you think he's pushing for it mortified or that there aren't many grand old men of rock who would do these things? He is a national treasure after all.

Stupid idiots anyway. Silly clothing, they look ridiculous. And then they try to regain credibility by standing like rockers with a green telecaster and a waist coat, who the fcuk would do something as stupid as that

Gary does have a respect for the old bands like Slade (his first gig) and Quo amongst others. and he has the songwriting cred.
His podcast with Guy Pratt, "Rockonteurs", is the best of its genre by far with the quality of guests they have on. Francis was on a year ago (kept calling them "Spandex").
They are just taking the piss - hence why in this one they are trying to set up a musical called "Spandau the Ballet".

Reviews are very good in the Telegraph, Independent, and other online reviews. Was great to see Francis play himself as a more edgy character!

I'd forgotten all about this until members responded to this thread.
I thought it started really well. Martin and Gary sent themselves up superbly. I don't know them beyond their songs, so it was easy to believe in these alter egos. And I loved Michael Kitchen as their manager.
There are some very funny lines, particularly near the start. This was my favourite.
They're discussing how to celebrate their 40th Anniversary.
Gary says he's planning, "Spandau, the colon, Ballet." at his Norfolk gaff, in the country.
Manager replies "The country's f..ked. It's heat or eat. Not heat or folk out over 60 quid a ticket to watch tits in tutus flit about to orchestral versions of your greatest hits."
It ran out of steam in the last 10-15 mins as it rushed to its inevitable conclusion.
Francis is okay except once again, like that film he was in, they don't write his 'character' as he really is. So I didn't believe him. I won't say any more to avoid spoiling it for others.

The overall send up by the Kemps was quite well done. Francis insisting Quo were much bigger than Spandau with the 120million record sales was funny (clearly no comparison)
