Does anyone remember the survey "Full Quota" fanzine did? All I remember about it is that it showed that male fans had a massive downer on the album, but it was received much better by female fans. Other than man overboard, I don't think there's anything there I would want to listen to again, although I do like Francis lead work on Little Dreamer As for the silver certification, I am baffled by it. I don't understand how it possibly sold that many - it charted lowly for 5 minutes and seemed to be quickly withdrawn Will always remember going to the record shop to ask for it. There was no display, it wasn't racked and I had to ask for it. There was one copy. Army had been in the front window. As falls from grace go....wow. Must have massively scared Rick and Francis Same amount as HT and QPQ! Wow, didn’t know that When you think about it it’s not so surprising. Most of the fans walked at different stages of the 80’s and didn’t come back. At least not for buying studio albums. I think the sales of Army emboldened Francis to record whatever he liked.

You could probably say QPQ is much more successful as 1989 sales would of course be naturally much higher than 2012 when streaming and downloads were on the, err, up. There's a margin of 40k as well with Gold being 60k-100k. Aquostic did over 100,000!

All the album sales are certification only, mainly based on actual sales. Basically if an album is certified gold in the UK (100k) it could easily off doubled those sales & more as it doesn’t reach the platinum threshold until it sells 300k. There’s a lot of discrepancies with sales figures which are mainly kept in house only. Some albums are missing like RTYD which was also UK gold & RAOTY is reputed to have made 3 x platinum 900k+ in the UK alone & 5m sales worldwide.

Yep....RAOTY SOLD 1.1 MILLION IN THE UK up to about 2000.12 GB would also have a similar amount but records only go back to 1994.Sales before then were lost and are based on certification at the time.Probably unreliable too.Chart position not always being a reflection of geunuine sales.

Lots of this is nonsense. 115 million records but their biggest selling album is 700000? Each album and single would have to have shifted a million copies each to reach that figure

Each album and single would have to have shifted a million copies each to reach that figure Think their singles combined sold near 7 million in the UK. Albums obviously would sell more, but I don't have any figures for that. Then you take into account the European markets, Australian market for awhile. I doubt it adds up to 115 million though
