Ooh, that bass line's not quite right and, well, that drum filler is missing. I'm gutted It depends on whether one thinks the fill is important or not. I think what John did on the original of O Baby is pretty spectacular, so to see him (on DVD) miss that fill several times in a row and eventually doing it is frustrating. For me personally, there really is something missing that should be part of the song. If you don't think it detracts, well, fair enough. And for people like Andy and Rhino, who have played with the band a lot of times and tried to play their parts correctly, it seems natural that they would notice things going wrong more than the average fan. Musicians can be hard critics. Gary Moore heard every wrong note somebody played. Should they swallow their opinions to avoid enraging fans? Not at all. People can say and think what they like. My small point is, at a gig especially, I'm not listening that intently. And if I was, I'm not sure I'd be able to pick out nuances like that. Not at that volume. If I can, I'm not enjoying myself

I tracked down my copy yesterday. And my teenage self is so excited to see the cover, flip through those old photos and feel nostalgic for a while. I shall read the detail later. As I haven't been buying this mag regularly, I haven't read all the past articles. So for me, it will a fairly new. But I have watched a lot of interviews online, so maybe not.
And its great to see them in an issue which reviews the Stones' latest album, and other rock legends like Fleetwood Mac featured.
And maybe it will prompt me to look at the new, up and coming bands too.

In Tesco alone, as well as Classic Rock, I can get the off-shoots like Prog Rock. I can also buy Mojo, Record Collector, Vive Le Rock!, Metal Hammer or Kerrang! (can't remember which) and Uncut, as well as various one-off specials for numerous acts. Unless Quo or someone else I'm really interested in is featured, I just have a quick look and move on. Too pricey for the casual reader. And much of the content is often rehashed. But the Hello! article is a good read. I've not read any of the interviews before despite the fact they're a few years old.

I just use my iPad and subscribe to Readly for £9.99 a month and binge read them all, bit like Spotify for magazines. gb.readly.com/

Superb cover on the German edition: Nice, that's from the original poster.
