If Marc Bolan was still here today how would he compare with todays Music....? Would he have gone same route as Rod & Elton as he was close to them or would he have surprised everyone in the Prince vein....?

I was never convinced he'd have been any more influential or popular than he was. He timed it just right and almost single-handedly started the glam movement, even if by accident. Beyond that, I couldn't see him emulating Elton or Rod in terms of longevity. He didn't have the voice to sing the 'mature' stuff (i.e dull ) these guys did later. And probably wouldn't have wanted to. Not in the same league as Prince for me. Prince could turn his hand to any form of music; and frequently did. And he was prolific. Marc Bolan's star shone very bright, even if only briefly. He never had the opportunity to make it duller and, for me, that's a good thing. His place in popular culture history is assured 👍
