For me, this was a sign that Quo were back. Well, at least on their way back. My Quo, that is. The album, although far from perfect, was quite an improvement on everything that had come out during the previous 8 years and this track in particular took me back to classic Quo. It's dark, brooding intro - typical Rick - and the power cranked up further in, along with a great solo, makes it a gem even now. One of my very favourites. I think it was played live early on but I never witnessed it. Superb

Have to admit I do really like this track. As Mortified says it's dark and brooding, in the way Take Me Away was and is a sound I had long throught I would never hear again from Rick and Francis. It does seem to be the odd one out on the album which is more poppy like. As I had given up on Quo looooong before this was ever recorded it probably didn't have the recognition of the really cool track that it is at the time. I do feel Shine On could have fitted in nicely on Want, Supposing or NTL. In fact if it had another 30 seconds or so of play out that would have sealed it for me.
So yeah, it's a great little number that has that old Quo touch to it.

Fantastic track from an album that got me back into quo after the disappointments of the years before

Dont listen to much 'modern' Quo but on first play sounds alright. Would I go out of my way to hear it again? probably not, no need to. One of the better ones I have heard though.

I really like this one and would take this album over Heavy Traffic anyday, only downside is Not Fade Away.

I think the very personal lyrics (from not the most cerebral band), takes this song up a few levels.

Very good song. The guitar sound was finally back! (And then came the good solo, and another one, played on some toy guitar, and new Quo blew it.)
