Speaking of Bowie, his 3-album runs of great albums will always be cited as Hunky Dory to Aladdin Sane and then Low to Lodger. And I get that. But for me, .... hours, Heathen and Reality are virtually perfect. Thank you for the reminder, asthequoflies 👍

Even though not on same level as his monoliths, I have a real liking for his 80s trilogy of Let's Dance/Tonight/Never Let Me Down. Two of those are mostly critically maligned, though there are plenty of engaging melodies and tunes there. And the tours - Serious Moonlight & Glass Spider were great. Stadium Bowie. Far more enjoyable than Black Tie/Outside/Earthling for me anyway. It's easy to admire that 90s trilogy but love the 80s trilogy.

Well obviously my first thought was, In the Army Now, Ain't Complainin' and Perfect Remedy ...
But that aside, I'd probably go,
Status Quo Quo On the Level Blue For You
Iron Maiden Piece of Mind Powerslave Somewhere in Time
Rush (Yes I love their 80s period) Grace Under Pressure Power Windows Hold Your Fire
Rainbow Rising Long Live Rock N Roll Down to Earth

Where it starts to get interesting, imo, is when you look at more than three consecutive albums. I'd argue Quo's run of seven albums from 1970-76 is hard to compete with. From my own personal point of view, no other artist can boast that many albums in a row where there might be one that breaks the sequence by just being average. Although the Stones come close with a run from Beggars Banquet to It's Only Rock and Roll. That would be seven if we include the live Get Yer Ya Ya's Out. And I dare say Beatles' fans would have something to say. But Yellow Submarine fvcks their argument up Would say The Who give it a good shake... My Generation A Quick One (possibly the most questionable but it's role in developing Tommy etc is critical - the title track is stupendous). Sell Out Tommy Live At Leeds (too great a live album to leave out) Who's Next Quadrophenia Falls away from By Numbers.

A great run from '72-'74, although I like all of their releases through the '70s
