SAHB 1 Framed 2 Next 3 The Impossible Dream Just had to Google "sahb framed" to figure out what band you meant! I know deliah and Boston tea party, that's about it. Will give them a try Framed and Next are probably the most straightforward or accessible from a rock point of view. After that, Alex tended to get a bit thematic They started to push the envelope a bit. Although The Penthouse Tapes is basically a very good covers album - before anyone was doing covers albums. Apart from Bowie's Pin Ups maybe. I think The Impossible Dream is probably my favourite but I think every SAHB album is good They were the soundtrack to my teens. Them and Quo.

Where it starts to get interesting, imo, is when you look at more than three consecutive albums. I'd argue Quo's run of seven albums from 1970-76 is hard to compete with.

From my own personal point of view, no other artist can boast that many albums in a row where there might be one that breaks the sequence by just being average. Although the Stones come close with a run from Beggars Banquet to It's Only Rock and Roll. That would be seven if we include the live Get Yer Ya Ya's Out. And I dare say Beatles' fans would have something to say. But Yellow Submarine fvcks their argument up

But Yellow Submarine fvcks their argument up aye, but if we include Live! then Quo have 8 stonking albums in a row. yellow submarine isn't really a beatles album, half compilation & half george martin's orchestral score for the movie. the run of eight albums from Please Please Me to Sgt Pepper is formidable, only Abbey Road is a really great album after that, imo.

Sticky Fingers Exile On Main Street Goats Head Soup Fantastic, yes. Revisited all three recently, as well as Majesties, Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed before that trio. One of my own favourite album runs are the Stones 1968-1981. Love that mid-late 70s run with funk, new wave, dance, touches of reggae, country and cool rock'n'roll. Black & Blue/Some Girls/Emotional Rescue/Tattoo You. My favourite Quo run would be Dog - Blue For You (With Ma Kelly's being almost as great). Bob Dylan - classic albums really from 'The Freewheelin' to 'Blonde on Blonde'; the three in '65/'66 in particular being superb. Sly & the Family Stone: Stand/There's a Riot Going On/Fresh. Prince, 'Dirty Mind' to 'Sign O' the Times', almost every one excellent in that 7 album run. David Bowie - Hunky Dory/Ziggy/Aladdin Sane. Or, Low/Heroes/Lodger. Everything 1970-1980 is high quality Bowie though.
