Copied from FB: It is with a huge amount of sadness that we have to announce that there will be no FTMO… Status Quo Fan Club Convention next year.
Butlin’s have changed their weekend structure across all sites and what they propose won't work for us. We have been offered July or December as part of a family break. Due to it being their peak time of the season It will be a battle for accommodation.
The other alternative was to be part of the 70s weekender which would leave us with the same accommodation issues and as it’s an adult weekend we wouldn’t be allowed children on site.
It’s Butlin’s or nothing for us as it’s the recognised home of Status Quo.
Thank you to all the bands, crew, volunteers and most importantly YOU The Quo Army for supporting the conventions in 2015-2022.

That's very sad news. I know how much you Viv, and other members enjoyed your convention weekends.

Very disappointing 😞 Met so many people at the 4 conventions, including several members from this board. Also seen some outstanding bands. Got to say though a massive thanks to Yvonne and Paul and all the team for putting on a superb event. 👏
See you at the last ever McVention.. 🍺😉

That's a real shame, it wasn't only the excellent bands we all enjoyed over the weekend, but meeting up with like minded people and having a pint while shearing Quo stories down the years.

This is sad news, I had a fantastic time at the 2017 and 2019 conventions. Looking forward to McVention in October as part of our UK travels!

Is your favourite Quo track Herd Time? Flocking In Flocking Out? Gonna Teach Ewe to Love me? I should read my predicted text's before posting.... Don't bother. We can predict your typing On the theme of the Quo Con/McVention, I've never attended any of them. Despite badgering by a certain sibling. Only thing I ever got to was the French Quo thing in Lille (twice). But I can tell how much loved they were/are. And it's a shame they'll no longer be happening. I probably shouldn't really say this, but it's a section of the fan base that has generally been largely ignored by Quo's management. The reunion seemed to be the only concession we ever got. But, of course, there were (potential) big bucks in that. This Quo "community" may be small but we are fiercely loyal and, frankly, we deserve a pull-out-the-stops, no expense spared, special guests, official event. Easier to get to than fvckin' Minehead! That's not a dig by the way. I appreciate why it was held there and also I appreciate the Skawttish one is in Glasgow). All we've ever had is the 'opportunity' to attend an event that is promoting whatever the latest product is. Like an art exhibition or a visit to a warship or a meal at the Dorchester. How about some recognition for 50-odd years of just being there? There, said me piece. I'll pi$$ off now. This seems to have set me off. I'll go have a lie down Paul & Yvonne and family deserve huge credit for organising the convention. As does every single one of you for making it the event it obviously was.

Conventions like this should be run by fans. One or two nights somewhere in the midlands with a car park would be good. I think the NEC is a bit too large, though.

I didn't have a problem with it being in Minehead - quite a pleasant drive down to the West Country from Winchester in Hampshire. I'm gutted that I only went to two of them though - I originally thought that I would not be able to cope with the pace of a whole weekend of Quo related activities, plus when the first one was held a few years ago I did not think I could afford it either! But I went to the 2019 and 2022 conventions and thoroughly enjoyed them. I would have gone to the next one too.. I've never been to the Scottish one so I've missed my chance now! And before anyone asks, I really can't go this time as it's the weekend of my husband's 75th birthday!
