The chapter on him leaving the band in December 1981 should be interesting..........

It’s written by the same guy who penned the first terrible effort which failed to deliver properly on Spud’s leaving and got Colin Johnson’s quotes confused, mixing up Francis and Rick

Not sure how much more can be disclosed from the 81 split that hasn't been already. After 40 years and the FF confined to the history books, he should be free to dig up some dirt though I look forward to a whole chapter dedicated to his thoughts on Margie Time!!

I think I might wait for reviews on here before I commit to buy - that last one really didn't have anything new and was full of errors which even the casual fan would have known. The only thing I would be really, really interested in would be what actually happened with PLC, whether the recordings exist and what state they are in (e.g. complete exept for vocals, demos, etc.).

John said in a recent interview that he hasn’t played any drums on this supposed project. as far as I know it was mostly Alan’s demos with Rick playing a bit of guitar sent by post but maybe don’t quote me too much. Francis wasn’t interested in taking part so it is probably unlikely these will ever see light of day unless people change their minds or someone within Alan’s circle decides to work on them ??

Anything is better than the first John Coghlan book, just how many mistakes were in that? Outrageous. Anyway to be honest I do not read Quo books , mainly because they contradict each other. The best an only book to read on this once great band is the 1979 book by John Sherlaw.

I will probably not buy the JC book as I'm not particularly fond of the man. He has spent a lot of time criticizing Francis, only to be making money out of playing songs written by the guy. Two of the songs played regularly by JCQ were "In my chair" and "April, Spring, Summer and Wednesdays" - both of which were Francis Rossi/Bob Young collaborations. A bit hypocritical in my opinion.

JC had every reason to criticise Rossi after some of his comments regarding both JC and Alan after the reunion tours . Cheers JC has been criticizing Francis about his actions/attitude after Rick died. In my opinion, this was uncalled for. He had no idea how Francis felt about Rick's death, but the fact that Francis has said in a number of interviews since that he still thinks of Rick often is evidence to me that he must miss Rick. I don't know what Francis has said about the reunion tours, but from reading some of the comments on here he said something about Alan's physical capabilities - which judging from other comments (and the fact that Alan sadly died a few years later) I would imagine Alan was in a poor state of health. I know when I saw Alan at the Quo convention in 2019, he was mentally very bright, but physically he was very frail. Like I said before, every person sees things from their own perspective. I met John at the Quo convention at Butlins last year. When I spoke to him, he just grunted in reply, and looked totally miserable. So I was not impressed. He couldn't even manage to be polite. Having spent some of my hard-earned money on going to his gigs in the past, I vowed then I would not spend money on anything further relating to him if that was his attitude.
