The unofficial 5th member of Quo is 78 today . HBD Bob.
Love the harp on Quo songs , think its made for it. Bob to me was a big part of the reunions some great contributions on the classics, although not sure which is my fave as I love them all.
Have we done a list of tracks with Bobs harp on them ? I bet there are a few we have forgotten.

Stand-outs for me are Coming And Going, Breaking Away and the obligatory Roadhouse Blues. Although the first time any of us heard him on harp I imagine was on Down The Dustpipe. Noticeable immediately by his absence from the stage stage in the early 80's. I remember wondering why, but we got no news or anything back then. No t'internet of course. So it just drifted until he was back in the fold for Heavy Traffic, although not on stage and I don't think he even played harmonica on the album. Andy does a fine job on harp anyway to be fair 👍 Have a good one, Bob

I remember going to Brid Spa and only seeing 3 mic stands on stage for the first time..wheres Bobs? Felt so disappointed , so integral to the sound of some of the tracks.

I think the first time he used harp was on the original studio version of “price of love” although he had done the spoken bit in “paradise flats” on the previous album.

I think I just missed Bob and his harp. Happy Birthday Bob! He was around for a while but only backstage. I knew enough to be puzzled but not enough to have any idea why.

This really is the definition of a 'deep cut'.
Moody, atmospheric, bluesy harp from Bob. Brilliant. Belated Happy Birthday Sir!

Plenty of improvisation going on there on the way to the fade out. Very atmospheric as stated. Pure class in my view and sadly the last time we heard him on a Quo record. Can't believe the man is 78. Holy dooly, where did the years go??

He will be at the Quo exhibition in 20 mins if anyone wants to ask him!
Wiki has him unoffocial 5th member so it must be right !
Any way he definately isnt a 'spare' in the Harry mold , but 78! Keep rockin Bob !
