I can actually remember watching that back then believe it or not. It was on "Nationwide" or something like that.
I'm not sure, but I think only Andy Scott is still with us.
I was never a Sweet fan early on because glam rock wasn't my thing but I was aware of - and they became renowned for - their B-sides which tended to be heavier than the hits. I started paying attention when they released Action and picked at the odd single after that (Turn It Down, Fox on the Run, Love is Like Oxygen).
But they were unable to make that transition from glam/pop to be taken seriously as a rock band. Quo are probably one of the few acts to manage that.
Good seeing that again though 👍

Yes, Andy Scott is sadly the only surviving member. I saw his version of The Sweet a couple of years ago in the Cheese and Grain music venue in Frome, Somerset. I thought only a couple of hundred might pitch up, but how wrong was I. There were around seven hundred of us crammed into the venue, Limehouse Lizzy were the support. Great night. My favourite The Sweet songs, Teenage Rampage and the absolutely brilliant Fox On The Run!
