Bad News. Thing is, when it comes to drama, the documentaries are more dramatic than the dramas. But I used to like A Hard Days Night. That is the way to do it, an excuse to play all the best tracks.
PS I liked it much better than Help!, but I loved the book of Help! Maybe I should try the movie again. Those daft comedy band movies from the 60s had a certain something.
How about Bula Quo? It's a terrible movie but it has a real band in it
Thanks to this question, I've just discovered that a silly 1960s movie called The Ghost Goes Gear is on YouTube - I thought it was lost to civilisation.
And then there was The Monkees. Everyone knows all bands live together in a mysterious house and do their own cooking (but never wash up).

... Remember the first time you heard Stairway?
Like yesterday. I was in the Marquee Club in Wardour Street in London, March 1971. It was cold and damp outside, and very loud inside.
As usual, there was an 8-foot hippie lad in front of me

'Slade in Flame' was already mentioned, but I was surprised to find the full film on YouTube:

Hysteria - The Def Leppard Story
I'd go as far as saying it's a mixture of both fiction and non-fiction, as the timeline for the film is a complete shit show. Even the members of the band washed their hands of it - however, it is a good watch.
