Just sat at home in my work office and listened to Hello straight through for the first time in many years.
It’s absolutely flawless really. Must be their best

You are quite correct. It is both flawless and their best. Others will have a different view because it can all depend on the context in which you first heard it. That and personal taste, obviously. But, to me, it has never been beaten since it first hit my turntable in September 1973. Not by anyone, let alone Quo. Bleedin' obvious indeed

For me for years, my favourite Quo album was between Piledriver & Hello!, but over the last 10 years or so, Hello! has edged it. Im thinking of putting together 'Hello! Live'...Next year, with the live tracks coming from various live albums to celebrate Hello!s 50th anniversary year

Dreadful album.
What were they thinking? I mean, were they on drugs or something?

i am sure Frame introduced it as Little Blue Eyed Lady once on the re-union tours, damn, i'll have to go back and listen.... Then he needs a slap 6th March 2013, Manchester Apollo, but, to be fair, he used the term Little Blue Eyed, then stopped when he was introducing Little Lady. But on 17th March 2013 at Wembley, he used the full term. I have all 9 versions from 2013 on a playlist...

I've spent a long thinking Hello! is the best album
I can say the same about OTL, Quo and Live! There have also been , at various times, a belief that the answer was NTL, Dog or Piledriver

Massive Blue Eyed Lady would have fitted too, especially as there were already a couple of songs in their catalogue about fat women.
Will i be getting the board closed down for using the F-word?
Also: Mountain Lady - was that about a big woman too?

of the 7 studio albums Quo released 70-76, Hello! is about joint 5th with Blue For You & Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon, for me. but, tbf, we're talking quite fine margins across the 7.
btw, don't ask me which order the other 4 are in, I'm still working on that!

Yup,you really have stated the bleedin' obvious. It has the: 1) Best song (IMHO) Roll Over Lay Down 2) Best cover (IMHO) 3) Best 'Country' style song,Claudie 4) Best song over 7 minutes long ever written by anyone, Forty Five Hundred Times 5) Best Quo gig opener (IMHO) Caroline 6) Honour of being the Ist Quo album to get to Number one 7) First song to be credited to all Frantic Four band members and the great Bob Young, Roll Over Lay Down 8)...I could go on!

Piledriver is my favourite but Hello is their best.
No covers No weak songs The session lads, producers and engineers are the best, they really got into it It sounds like it was being taken very seriously If they had done nothing else this would represent the whole thing, everything before and all that came after. There's nothing they could have done to make it better.
What a cover. I remember seeing it at W H Smiths at the Elephant & Castle and just knowing that this was going to be something.
I don't play it often, don't want it to become over familiar. I listened to my old vinyl the other day to listen to Caroline, that name does something doesn't it, and really listened to Lancaster's part, it's only taken me 50 years to get past that wall of guitars, drums, saxaphone's and piano's.

Blue for you is a good album too..I know the period of the late 70s early 80s albums were ok in it's own way but...I think the tock till you drop album was a clever album too..
