Here's a not very interesting opinion!...
My only gripe with it is when the rocking section kicks in with the guitar riff then the subsequent drums, the whole thing loses it's feel as it speeds up just a tad but enough to be noticeable, to me anyway. I guess the ears/brain adjust and it was maybe a deliberate move to take it up a wee notch, but if it was accidental and someone's basically come in with too much enthusiasm, it's a shame because the song up until that roughly 2 minute mark has a really nice laid back groove and a perfect speed, but they lose that a little bit with the speeding up.
It's subtle, but i'm a bit arsey about things like that, dunno why.

Well, that drew me at least to have another listen. It has much to recommend it. It just needs Quo-ing up. All the wrapping and shiny bits removed, and maybe a fraction shorter. The guitar break is a little treasure. I won't be going back for a while because songs like that always make me think of how they COULD have sounded if they hadn't been "improved" to try and sound more 80s or 90s. Now off to The Madness ...

I remember Quo playing this early on the Influence tour at Manchester Apollo. Sound was brilliant & it went down well. Even so they dropped it from the set after about 6 shows.

Was listening to UTI and Shine On is really dull for two minutes . And then……….it’s brilliant!! When the lead break kicks in until the end of the song it really grooves . It’s the song equivalent of a game of two halves for me. Everyone else seems to love the whole thing so I’m in the minority. I don’t think I’ve ever had that with any Quo song where I’m not keen on half then love the rest ! Any thoughts ? The whole album is dreadful, hated since I first heard it. Can never understand the comments about it being a return of Quo, it was not, HT was miles better.
