Hmm,
The geezer playing rick with quo now, plays pretty well, very well, even though his guitar is mixed back, to my ears, But I don't get, as such a comparatively young man, why does he look like a bank manager on stage?, clean cut, nice shirt, peaky blinders Barnet.. has anybody told him he's in STATUS QUO?
Andy looks more a rocker than any if them.
Well I suppose if you're a cabaret act it doesn't really matter?

Quo 70s were the dogs, but fast forward 50 years, yes it’s a totally different band and still by name pull a crowd and they walk out happy. If young Richie put on a Coca Cola t shirt and grew his locks I betcha you’d be spewing as he’s just trying to be a Rick wannabe… give the guy a break. He’s an excellent replacement for Rick and was given his blessing by Rick himself.

Robert Palmer used to take to the stage in a suit and tie, so did David Bowie, Mick Jagger is often dressed in designer silk shirts and jackets. Presumably they're not "real" rockers as they're not in patched double denim?

It all looks to corporate to me, am not having a go at the geezers playing, he's very good. I remember Rick dropped the dated black denim after the reunion tours and just went back to what he felt comfortable with, blue jeans, t shirts, denim shirt. Looking the part is a piece of what defined Quo. They seem quite happy to keep playing the 70s songs

Doesnt really bother me but then again neither does the show they now put on. Watched a few clips from Belfast all looked a bit sterile but then again I wasnt there. Seemed to be enough who were and still enjoying the band.
Hope Rossi hasnt added falling over the drum riser to the act ! (did look like s genuine fall tbf)

I kind of get where GentlemanJoe is coming from here, but the real thing is, he isn't Rick. Nobody is Rick, and it won't matter how many wigs or demin anyone puts on, they will still not be Rick. Younger folk now don't expect long hair and denim. And BTW I like the black stuff, I loved the colour of blue jeans but could never find a pair to fit me. My favourite pair was green. Another minor point, does anyone see anyone in Quo these days who has long hair? Even trib bands have largely given up wearing wigs. Richie was like, Rick's apprentice, and is doing a fine job. I do get where GJ is coming from, though.

Most bands and classic acts now wear shirts or suits on stage its not just quo all artists do these days except a few for their brand image

I'm not saying g it doesn't happen, but the hair and denims were what defined the band, They, for me represented the working class bloke I was in early 80s, still am and that was how I dressed. Still do somenights in local 😄. if you play the music, the presentation is part of what the shows about. And if you change a lot of the touchstones from their roots, if you get further away from what attracted folk to the band. Apart from the choice of live set, I'd like to see some nods to the past, agyer all it's show business, and what made them a successs.
I'd guess.most of them would be wearing jeans and t- shirt on their off days at home, rick did and Mat.. the Black denim was a 90s thing that looks dated now,
But it's not just the gear it's the set up, watch the stage and any gig could be anywhere, as it never changes the grey amps/speakers, instead of a wall of black Marahalls.. the set up is always exactly the same.
I know frame says he likes this and, he doesn't like change, and everybody can judge for themselves about the music, no doubt enjoyed by those that still follow.
Not my bag. But good luck to them that still follow..
Just my opinion.

I'm sure Francis would love to still have his early 70s hair. I'm not quite so sure many of us would be as keen on wearing some of the clothes we did back then, even if we could still squeeze into them. Flares were never a good look.

good example of this Dave Hill looked a bit p"adoish in the 70's and he wears similar clothes these days and he looks rather stupid at his age now dressing like he did in the 70's
