I managed to get hold of this album a couple of years back. Apparently John McCoy (soon to be with Gillan) played bass on it as well. I knew nothing about John Du Cann in 1977 but I know I'd have liked the album if I'd had it then! Now, it has a naïve 70's charm and some of the tracks border on punk in nature. As a bit of an obscure connection/family tree type thing, John McCoy replaced John Gustafson in the Ian Gillan Band which went on to become Gillan and Gustafson himself went on to co-write Dear John. Among many other things by the way. The weird, internal world of the professional musician Ta for sticking that up. It's probably the best track on the album anyway

....... and John Gustafson joined a late version of The Pirates with Mick Green who wrote with Alan Lancaster and both The Pirates and Quo recorded Hard Ride and You Don't Own Me. [Wikipedia reckons 4 songs were co-wrote - what were the other 2?]

Yeah I like this album, I believe People on the street was a Sounds single of the week
I think some of the songs are rerecorded Atomic Rooster numbers

This is a bit here and a tweak there away from being a full on Status Quo classic, I can imagine Parfitt giving this the full vocal treatment. This is one that got away, I'll be playing this for a long time. Who wrote it? Should have given it to Quo and made some money.

As he did the vast majority of songs on the album. The album was recorded in 1977 but never released until 1992. His biggest hit was some years before:
