My cd arrived today- number 33.
It’s amazing the heavy sound they get from just three players .
Rhino does blues very well - Obstruction Day is a favourite of mine and I like the pace they play Belavista Man here - it’s quicker but retains its groove.
And Jim Kirkpatrick is great on Before You Acuse Me.

When I used to think of Rhino and perhaps Pip W my next thoughts were that they would always be on a hiding to nothing with the Quo fans of long standing. What a ridiculously tough job to follow Alan etc.
Some of Rhino's solo musical output is genuine Rock and other influences, I especially enjoyed his Brentford FC track. He sometimes undeservedly gets a bad press but he does occasionally have at go at us lot, which is a shame.

It's a brilliant album and the best live release I've heard in many a year. This is going to sound like sacrilege to many but I prefer it to any of the more recent live Quo albums - including the reunion. Those were great but, for me, they were saved from repetition by the inclusion in the set of songs they'd never played before. Fabulous renditions of O Baby, Blue Eyed Lady and April Spring Summer & Wednesdays.
And, of course, the amazing atmosphere. Quo live albums generally suffer from the sheer repetitiveness of the set. Charge! on the other hand is fresh, loud and heavy. It's basically a blues/rock album and a very good one. Loads of highlights to mention because there isn't a below average track on it so I'll mention in dispatches Before You Accuse Me, One Note Blues (which frankly could and should have been a Quo classic), a blistering Two Way Traffic and a superb Bad News with a spine tingling solo by Jim Kirkpatrick. Oh, grab his recent album as well by the way. It's excellent. I'll be playing and enjoying this album for a long time

Its a very good album. Two minor quibbles: 1) I don't think the first couple of tracks have a great sound - it improves as the album goes on, and 2) I much prefer live albums to sound like they are a full live gig - this one does the thing where there are small gaps between live tracks.
Given that they did 2), they should have put the first ouple of tracks further back in the setlist on one of the gigs and then put those versions at the start of the album. But maybe they just recorded one gig - in which case, wht 2)?
But overall, very good, and 2) is a quirk of mine, so can't blame Rhino for that.

Is there somewhere a digital version of the album? Can't find it on Deezer.

Top live offering, Rhino's bass sound is so heavy, only thing missing possibly is the 2nd Guitar 'chunk' but it's his call after all

Is there somewhere a digital version of the album? Can't find it on Deezer. Looks like this is gonna be CD only Got mine yesterday Felt sad for rhino that I'm only number 431. His first album shifted 4 or 5 thousand. The Quo audience continues to become more selective! Great heavy sound, just had a very quick blast in the car. Wish I'd gone, I didn't see the tour advertised. I'm not that far from the bikers pub he played in Coalville, which is a fantastic venue I posted about 3 years ago that I'd bought a CD and what a rare thing that is now. No more bought since last week when I bought three!!! (Roadhouse blues, this and the Ian Hill tribute CD) If I was rhino I'd also go CD only. He'd get bog all money otherwise!

I really don't get the snobbery some have for those of us that like physical copies.
It's mine, it can't be changed or be cancelled, is of superior quality and it has value.
I still get my well looked after NEC 1982 VHS out now and then and get a buzz.

Never noticed any negativity towards those people though I think fans who stream are bound to be frustrated if something is CD only and of course the same applies in reverse. CD only is very rare now
