Just wondered what people's preferred version is? I only have the recent 2LP mono & stereo pressings so I can't comment on original 60's pressings and have only played the Mono LPs which sounded good.
Am I likely to notice a vast improvement when I play the stereo LPs?

As far as I'm aware, there weren't stereo versions for debut album until 1998. The full stereo album was released in 2002. These are more recent mixes, so they are different from the original mono in the sense of levels, orchestration and songs length.
For Spare Parts, the original album was released as stereo and also as mono. So the mixes are similar, in the sense that if you mono the stereo mixes, you get the mono version of the album. So, nothing new or different, unlike with the debut album.
For Spare Parts, I really like the stereo. Don't care for the mono, because it doesn't add anything. Do note that there are Single Mixes in mono for Are You Growing Tired Of My Love (more reverb on voice), So Ends Another Life (no orchestra and some other minor changes. Also longer ending), Little Miss Nothing (this one has orchestra; the album version doesn't).
For the debut, I like both versions, because they are different. Though I wish there was a better reissue of the stereo mixes, since they are very compressed.
Note: this is all based on my understanding of it, due to my empirical quest.

Yeah, the remasters released in the late 90s by a company under the Sanctuary Record Group went back to the original tapes.

It bugs me that the stereo mix of POMM misses out the "wahs".
