Missed opportunity again not having this second in the set. Top song.
JSD is a good song but, Heavy Traffic should have been the first single! It would have made a great statement and the marketing around it was an open goal

There’s a real thing statement of intent with having this song first with line “give me rock and give me roll”
The whole vibe at this time was brilliant

It would have made a great statement and the marketing around it was an open goal A single played during 'drive time' while people sat in their cars crawling along would have been a bit of a coup. Stuck out like a sore thumb to me. But what do I know?

To me, the record company should have gone with Heavy Traffic first.
It’s not as if JSD was on Radio 2’s A-list so they weren’t quite calling the shots at that point.
The vibe was getting around that Quo were rocking again so Heavy Traffic was rocky enough yet melodic enough and with its singalong outro would have been perfect for radio 2 ( they did play it a few times )
JSD with that video would have done a great job as the second single .
