I think the track owes much of it's success at the time to the quality of the video, tbh

It was a song I always thought was OK as a single but not exactly earth shattering. It was also the first Quo video that had a bit of a story line rather than just a faux live setting all the way through. Although they predictably got there in the end As already said, they played it on the Never Too Late tour - the only song from the album they did play - so when I did eventually hear a bootleg of it, it was a nice change. But, of course, it disappeared for years to then become part of the Roadhouse Medley before finally getting it's own regular slot near the start of the set. Wonder whose idea it was to cover it in the first place? Seems an odd one, especially in 1981.

It's always been one of my favorite songs when they do it right after Caroline in the "modern" live sets.
Never been the biggest fan of the studio version though

The video is great!
Again this is an age thing. If you'd been spoiled on the classic singles of the early and mid 70's you are less likely to be impressed!
I think it's a great cover, good sound and some great licks
I don't find it lazy at all. Comments about it live are a different discussion
