This was by far my favourite track on the album for a long time. I think it now probably ties with Overdose. Bottom line is, I still like it a lot. Very 80's of course but not in an old fashioned, what were they thinking type way. Just playing it again here as I type. First time in ages I've played it. It really is very good. I know nothing about where or when it was recorded but it has a similar sound in places to No Contract. Big chords, deep affect-laden backing vocals etc. Think I'll play it again, Sam. 10/10

Not so long ago I hated it. Now, I don't mind the song, but I really dig on the end solo (Which is by Pip I guess, doesn't sound like Francis)

One of my favorites. This, Overdose, Lonely and Heartburn are fantastic from the ITAN era. Very powerful and heavy!

Could imagine this being given the down and dirty treatment by Quo in 1974, a la Drifting Away, but although it starts of promisingly, it soon cleans up its act.
I do like Pip's guitar solo during the fade out though.

The shouty chorus puts me off.

Like it more now. At the time I just didn't think it sounded like SQ. Guess I'm more used to that now!
For me a decent Rick solo outing. Wasnt recorded for his solo album but doubt Francis is on this
Chorus better than the verses

Wasnt recorded for his solo album but doubt Francis is on this You can hear him sing "End of the Line" at a lower tone, at least. I also think it's him harmonizing some of Rick's parts, but can't be sure on that.

One of the last songs Rick wrote (or was involved in writing) that wasn't generic "Rick filler song" material imo.
Absolutely fantastic track, especially when you compare it to the mix of soppy ballads and tuneless rockers he spent 20 years pumping out so it looked like he'd contributed to the album.
Three songs come to mind that were later and not simply crap that sounds like what simple people think Quo should sound like. Power of Rock, Creepin Up On You and GoGoGo.

I also think it's him harmonizing some of Rick's parts, but can't be sure on that. It is Francis doing the lower harmonies during those sections of the verses. Guitar-wise, he's more than likely the one doing the sustained notes during the chorus whilst Rick is playing chords underneath. The Army album is the one I'd love to listen to the isolated tracks on, especially the vocals. Quite possibly the only decent album for Rick / Francis harmonies.
