I don't remember that on Top of the Pops at all. Doesn't mean I didn't see it, just that I can't remember I didn't think they got high enough in the charts to get on. Just goes to show. I have seen the video before though. Somewhere. I remember DLT doing his 'eadbanging thing at the start.

I know Alan Lancaster was a fine bass player but why was it so different after he went, this is not a great song by any means but I can't name a better one since ITAN or indeed it's equal.

Long been a favourite of mine. Never understood the indifference towards it though - to my lugs it perfectly straddles the gap between melodic pop and ballsy rock, without straying too far into either territory and becoming cliche. It chugs along beautifully and has an interesting melody to me.
Is it too Quo for a single? The fans were embarrassed by it or something? Too much like lowest common denominator, like Again and Again?
With hindsight, it's been relegated to should-have-remained-an-album-track by it's weak performance in the charts, but if the same had happened to Caroline or Down Down, say, i guess we'd look at them less favourably maybe?

Although there can be any number of reasons why a single doesn't do well, I think that was probably it. You're right; it was almost " too Quo". Derivative of themselves almost. I bought it of course, just to continue the collection, but I was never a great fan of the song.

One of Quo’s weaker singles in my opinion and should’ve remained an album track. Resurrection would’ve been a better choice, along with Dear John.
