Gets mixed reviews this one but I've always liked it. A lot. The album doesn't get mixed reviews. No one likes it. Not even the band But I do. A lot. So there 10/10

I love both the song and the album to bits! Great track, one of Ricks best from the last 20/30 years! Unfortunately sucked live big time, really is an album track - the Aquostic version is quite nice, too. Always smile when Ricky goes "Thank you ladies..."

This thread is good as it's capturing all the oddballs who like this song and album. Means I can deal with you all in one fell swoop.
I'm just kidding! *
* Probably

Love it. I also loved it live, Andy's harmonica was SO powerful, fantastic! (You had to be there) Let's give Rhino due songwriting credit, he co wrote quite a few with Rick that were popular Can somebody post the radio 2 session version? Bit faster if I remember You can see from this clip that Matt was into it. Such a shame he got bored and left (at least , that's what appears to have happened). Enjoyed the clip, for 2 seconds at the end Quo sound like Purple

But they didn’t right by the numbers rubbish like this.

This is a right sleazy, bluesy bar room groove, and as such totally unlike any other Quo song. It's knitted together with a classic old Quo style riff that fits perfectly , "the bastard cousin of don't think is matters", as classic rock put it

The rhythm guitar riff owes a wee bit to Over The Edge.

Not a favourite in fact I don't like it, but if I made a list of the songs I've liked since NTL it could be a very short list considering the amount of songs produced. "Let's get rid of Spud"...pillocks.

As for liking the blues. Depends what you mean. Good blues is s great thing. Such as Unspoken words.

One of my faves from that album .
For me it’s got a great riff and it’s bluesy.
Francis doesn’t like it but each to their own.
The Party album is to Heavy Traffic what Thirsty Work was to Rock Til You Drop.
I always found it strange that Francis allowed a third John David song on the album at the expense of one of his one like I Ain’t Ready.
Back to the song in question - my first hearing of it I think was on the Ken Bruce session for Radio 2.
It was one of those instant songs for me.
