An old song that pitched up on the This & That CD as an early demo. Polished up and recorded properly, this is very good. One of Quo's better ballads I'd say and a rarity these days being a Parfitt/Young composition. Wish they'd do the same with Shifting Sand! I remember reading about how the classical style guitar solo came about. Yeah, like it

Who on earth is playing on this? Is the piano Andy? And those guitar solos - Micky Moody?
Doesn't sound like a Quo recording at all!

I hated it when it was released on the chord album, but, like 2-3 years ago, It just stuck in my mind and like ever since. I prefer the demo.

It’s a song which doesn’t really go anywhere .
For Mortified , I think the solo was referenced in FTMO magazine as Pip said he got Francis to play it.
I can’t help thinking that had Francis written this he’d have had pelters whereas Rick gets away with murder because he’s Rick !!

I didn't know the album version but I love, love this demo. And the real rock must into burst later on. It also reminds me of something, and not Spinal Tap .. But great find. Is it ELO influenced??? I've just listened to the album version now. Rick's voice is lovely but it doesn't have the power of the demo.

Prefer the album version, Rick's throaty vocals are excellent.

Piano is more than likely Rick, with it being done in his home studio iirc Shame there isn't a version of that studio demo with vocals, as the writing demo is f*cking awful and I'm not keen on the Fourth Chord version either. Ricks vocals almost seem auto-tuned, like the Over and Out tracks.

I like One by One. I had almost forgotten about it, my CDs are all UK vanilla, so it's not on there anywhere.
