Normally I wouldn't comment or even blink at the thought of this godforsaken dump of an album...however, credit where credit is due, the last minute or so play out of this track is fantastic. I really wonder if that is Frame playing the lead work though? Sounds quite Pip William's ish. I have never liked Jeff's drum playing in the band but he hits the skins pretty darn good on this. Its a pretty cool song too. Very much the'screaming Rick the rocker' type track I guess but considering the era this is from I do like it. That and PORR of course. The rest I can leave for dead.

This has always been my favourite track on what, for me, is a pretty poor album. " There's a hole in the bed where I ain't seen you for days" is a favourite line of mine and the whole song is really well put together. Rick's writing at it's best. Although I appreciate Pip gets a co-credit. 7/10 on a 2/10 album. Good going

One of their worst albums for me but this and pow are ok and strange enough I've learnt to like Heart on Hold purely as an experimental song that is totally different from their normall quo style

I think it's very much Rossi on lead guitar. The only part that ain't typical is the sliding harmony at the very end. Maybe Williams had some influence on it but I would definitely say it's Rossi.

Listening to it again I can tell it's not the green telecaster. It's a guitar with whammy bar (maybe even Floyd Rose as it seams to go up in pitch). But still think it's Rossi who plays it.

Not my era at all and the first time I have heard this in decades. Thought it was ok, not great but ok as an album track. Pleasant change to listening to yet another Rossu vocal. Will I listen to it again? probably not, it's just not my era.

I like the song and it's a great rocker from Rick, just like most of his other songs from the time. I just find that the production doesn't benefit the song as much as it could. This song, re-recorded for RTYD, could have been an improvement.

These pitched up on the old message board years ago. Can't quite recall the name of the bloke who had them. Big Thin Lizzy fan, that's about all I can remember. I thought these mixes were better but not enough to improve them that much I'd still be playing the album all the way through today.
