Another brilliant Lancaster-penned song! Fantastic lyrics too! Probably my number one favourite song from the last (IMO) really strong album. Love it!

Outstanding track. It was my favourite on the album when it first came out, only since surpassed by my continuing love of Breaking Away. Lyrically, a spiky attack on the music press at the time, which they failed to even notice. One reviewer (can't remember which paper) even said it was about Alan's ex-wife. Knob Lying low in every crowd? Seriously? They made a video for this as well if I recall so it may have been considered for a single release. Brilliant song

I had no idea there was a video to this
Just found it and really enjoyed watching it! Francis seems to be using another Tele that has a hole drilled into it?
Enjoy
Mortified - I always thought it was cloud, not crowd. It all makes more sense now 😆

Probably in my top 5 Quo tracks.
Interesting because this song is all melody. It’s not heavy - it’s bittersweet, and gorgeous

Brilliant modern day Quo number (at the time) and still sounds fantastic today. Great guitar sound, great melody, nice lead break, great production, insightful lyrics. Extremely well written.
Wish it was released as a single just to shut up the critics as it was/is such a classy song.
Ah, those were the days!

Fairly sure the lyric is '..every cloud'. Isn't it? It is cloud. Is it? After all these years....! Well it should be crowd. It works better

I often forget this was Alan's song
Same A Year
Its worth mentioning that quite a lot of Alan's great songs are totally, totally different from each other. I don't think he had a songwriting style, he just happened to write some brilliant stuff
For the time, LOAI was imo the correct choice of 2nd single
