I tend to agree. But it's faint praise I suppose because it's not a good album.
Destined to be a single but turned up as the B-side to the re-recorded (and pretty dreadful) Going Downtown Tonight. It deserved better.
Written by Rick and Andy but sung by Francis. Things just weren't right back then, were they?

Quite surprised didn’t re-record this for his solo album.

If believed,Francis' ego was out of control and Rick, as always, went along with it... Nothing really changed now I think of it

I think it is a brilliant song, and I really like the guitar solo.
If there is a version from the recording sessions with Rick singing, I'd love to hear that.

Rick's voice would have elevated this to immense levels.
The emotional feeling he could have sang with!! It described his life!!
Anywho...

Never ever liked it. Never. I always skip it when I'm hearing the album. Can't stand it. Maybe I heard it in full just 2-3 times.
I'm surprised that most of the users of the forum like it, to be honest. But, as we say over here, the tastes are like arses, everyone have one (...or something translated like that).

Not a big fan. It just limps along. But maybe it's Francis' vocal delivery and the band's general lacklustre feeling at the time. With an arrangement and production like the song "Blue for You" I think I'd like it more. As it is, "Can't Be Done" is far and away my favourite and I don't care for the rest of the album.
