Hmmm, dunno about better live - I remember the first time I heard the Tim Turan remaster of the studio album - I was in a car with an excellent stereo system and speakers beautifully balanced - sounded like the drums were all around me. Spuds finest moment?

One of my favourites! A cracking song! I never get bored of this song... Allways loved the Rossi solos. In fact Quo Album contains the best guitar solos in my opinion; Backwater, DOnt Think it matters, fine, fine fine, Just Take me...

Best version to me, especially solo wise, is the Milton Keynes performance

Just Take Me was the track played by Alan Freeman on his Saturday rock show on Radio 1 before the album was released. I'd only heard the single prior to that. And I have to admit, I wasn't all that sure about it at the time. I remember talking about it with a schoolmate on the Monday and he loved it on first listen.
When I heard it again after buying the album, I changed my mind a little. I think it's good but I'm not a big fan of that Bo Diddly style riff as a rule. I'm the same with Let's Ride.

This has always been one of my fave Quo songs . Still sounds as fresh today as it did back in the day. A benefit of not been overplayed possibly ? Love it live and always a highlight listening to it back. Similar thoughts to this and Softer Ride when I hear that as well.
Like many , love the seg from Backwater into it with Spuds drumming. Wonder if it gets overlooked due to that classic Quo track. Any way I love it.

Though my favourites tends to change over the years this one has an eternal spot on my ”Quo top ten list” - I simply can’t hear it too many times!

It's not one I would choose to play often, great song though.

In my younger days, never heard it, because it was in the record vinyl collection of my father (and, as you can read in my other posts, never played it), and all the CDs and tapes that contains Backwater, never contains Just Take Me. But, after purchase the Live CD I was able to heard the song.
The drum intro is great, the solo is great, but the song overall, never find it interesting as Backwater. I really like the thing that they do in 77-79 with Backwater and Rocker's Rollin' and in 81-82 with Little Lady, I really LOVE that part.
It is the only single of the Quo album in Spain as well, the B-Side is Break the Rules.

Not a song I would deliberately choose to play, but when it comes on shuffle mode in my Quo playlist, I absolutely love it, brilliant solo by Francis, one of his very best! I really loved when on the Hello Quo reunion jam John starts it and Alan turns round, grinning from one ear to another after the band just managed to remember and play Backwater in full, saying: don't you dare! But John dared😂
When they really played it live and I heard it for the first time in Manchester 2013, especially the transition from Backwater it was just breathtaking, literally: when they played the last bars of Backwater I was holding my breath...would they? Will they? They did and the Apollo errupted once again!

Absolutely love this song! And it HAS TO BE played with Backwater! It’s such a let down when it’s not!
