Really like this. Decent riff and little moments.
Feels like the closest they’ve got to just supposing era in a while.

Favorite song on the album, sounds like a song off the 'never too late' album.

I guess this is the proof that current Quo just doesn't excite me anymore: I had to google to find out what album this track was from....

It's alright this song. I like the sound of the guitars on it and it drives along nicely. I wouldn't say it was particularly reminiscent of any previous era. It just sounds like Quo. I guess it's reflective of the album as a whole for me. There are no turkeys on it that I'd skip (no, not even the quirky Crazy Crazy ) but there are also no real stand-out tracks either. They're all good. But none of them are outstanding enough to be found permanently on a playlist in, say, 5 years' time.

Doesn't do a great deal for me, which means nothing at all...it's been a long time since the playout on The Mystery Song BFY version.

Favorite song on the album, sounds like a song off the 'never too late' album. Actually I find that even more so with I see you're in some trouble.... I enjoy this track quite a bit as well

Not like a seventies or beginning eighties album of course, but it certainly is one of these newer albums that I do enjoy. I do skip Crazy Crazy, the fake american accent irritates the heck out of me, sorry. But for the rest I like the album quite a lot. Backing off is one of the songs I really like of it. Contrary to you though there is one stand out track for me though that should have been properly on the album and that is Face the Music. That one has made it to my permanent playlist of them

Genuinely didn't think Quo had in them at this late stage, without Rick, to create an album that ticks many of the boxes, but they managed it somehow.
Yes there are a few issues that we have waxed lyrical about a few times on here which is a shame, but I am still enjoying this album and probably 'Backing Off' had been the first track I had been drawn to on the album though now 'Falling Off The World' is sitting on the throne.
That's the thing with this album, 'Falling Off The World' this month and quite possibly 'Waiting For A Woman' next month and so on and so forth...
Will it stand the test of time? I think it will for me but possibly not for the public at large, bearing in mind that music is far more disposable these days anyway.

One of the top 5 songs from backbone. Maybe it's in the number 2 or 3. I like the idea of going back to the Drop D tunning. When I heard it the first time I was thinking "That must be a Bown song". Yes, it is.

Got to say backbone has more longevity for me than any album since heavy traffic.
I really rate it as one of their best post 81 albums
There really are no bad tracks on it. I can take or leave IWRAWY and BB but even those are ok.

I still find it somewhat bizarre, especially the chorus. Not one of my faves.
