I hated it until I was 17 or 18, maybe more. Nowadays I just can't skip it, it's beautiful.
The last part of the solo is my favorite, without a doubt.

And when that last, soft note disappears quietly into the ether, Slow Train suddenly blasts into your ears. No mucking about. Straight in. This ain't Pink Floyd Quo didn't do many ballads back then but, when they did, they were the best they ever did. For some reason, later on, they started taking more and more sugar until, eventually, syrup was served up.

Pure magic
As with A Year, the maturity of the writing seems at odds with the youth of the band and its public image. This is Quo's only ballad that I always liked, quite noisey in places! Not sure it is a ballad? A thing? 🤔😁

Have you heard this, it’s fabulous: Now that literally had me in goosebumps. The build up is fantastic and when the percussion comes in and that lead work goes up a level, well...I am up in the clouds. Brilliantly put together and crafted. One of the band's finest ballads of their career and done full justice. I hardly noticed the vocals were missing. Didn't need them. Ok, the question is now...I am now hungry to see more?? Made my morning. Thank you.

I wish Quo were known more for this quality type of song rather than poppy stuff like RAOTW
