Rock 'n' Roll Floorboards
Description:
This is the original demo of "Rock 'n' Roll Floorboards",
written in late 1978/early 1979 and recorded in March 1979.
It was later recorded by Status Quo in 1985 with Rick Parfitt on vocals, and eventually appeared on the album "In the Army Now - Deluxe Edition" released in September 2018.
This demo recording includes Pete Kircher and Brian Alterman,
ex-members of the group Shanghai, who toured UK and Europe with Status Quo in 1976.
Pete went on to become Quo's drummer during the early 1980's.

That's not half bad. More prominent keys definitely give it something extra.
It's got a kind of The Move - California Man feel to it. Guitar sounds a bit "Nutbush City Limits".

Am i hearing it wrong, or did Rick change the line "fell in love with a crazy little dream" to "fell in love with a CREAMY little dream" ?
I wondered if he (Rick) was talking about a Tele or some other guitar, as the songs about a career as a rock n roller, i suppose.

Enjoyed that. I'd assumed this was entirely Ricks original song, with his intention of re-writing nutbush city limits!
So PK introduced Quo to this when he joined the band?
