Don't think any other song was given as many different treatments. A few differing early arrangements ,a rocked up version on the EP...the later "fun" live staple Not to mention TV and radio appearances ,again with twists www.songfacts.com/facts/status-quo/gerdundulaDoes anyone have the tiswas clip? Seems to have been taken down from YouTube I think it's a great song. Still interested in the song writing credits ,the Manston/James thing ,later Rossi/young is not really explained. Sounds very traditional yet ive not heard that melody anywhere else. If Francis did write that jig style thing he can be very proud
GORDON BENNETT I NEVER SAW THAT BEFORE! And I dug and dug to try and find the "appearance on the old grey whistle test that someone accounced and actually probably never happened" (in fact i think it never happened) and here they are (decades later) doing it on telly! I never found anything relating to TisWas. Hang on, it's still on YouTube, but it's modern era ... the guitar line must be a backing track ... the 30 second clip is the real thing BTLOI.

Bass line? Are we sure? If there is a bass on it, it's certainly well back in the mix. And, of course, there was never any bass on it when played live. Not even in the 70's. But I guess if Alan's on it.... It was a joke, now it's ruinned . Do the multitracks for the Dog still exists Quoincidence ? 8 track I suppose, maybe 16. Don't remember what the standard for '71 was. Alan's line was the chugging line. That was the bass as far as I am concerned!
