Anyone else notice how Ricks image on the ITAN album sleeve, and other publicity, was at odds with how he looked on stage. Double denim badass!!!

Yeah Rick was very cool on the army tour
At the time it very much felt that all of a sudden we were down to just one band member looking cool.
Tbf he could always look very different offstage and always liked dressing up

A sad tour for me as it was the last Quo gig I went to until the Reunions, & JCQ of course. It just didn't sound quite right to my ears.

Went three times that year , Wembley with Queen , NEC - Rhino copping the wanker hand signal , Hammersmith with Roland Rat . I tried to get over to the left at every gig in the following years . 13 / 14 being the exception . Appreciate that Rhino probably kept the band going and maybe smoothed things out , but live on stage ....... yer ..nah .

He wasn't wearing double denim on any of the UK tour dates I saw, he was wearing the jacket with the gold things on the shoulders and the crown on the front.

He wore it on the Stadium tour with Queen. During the army tour he did wear the jacket with the gold trim on the shoulders & also with Queen at Knebworth in ‘86

I saw them live 3 times in 1986. Twice with Queen, Wembley and Knebworth ( Queen, what a brilliant live show. Also Freddie's last concert with the band.)And the Hammy 24th December (The early start and the guest appearance of Lemmy). It has to be said that Quo were still a fantastic live band, even if Rhino did not fit the bill. But hey ho!

I feel bad for Rhino getting a hard time. He was in an impossible situation. There’s no way he could fill the shoes of his predecessor. Alan Lancaster was a founder member. But Rhino’s done a great job. If he looked a bit out place. Maybe it was on purpose. If he adopted Alan’s stage presence he would be accused of copying.

Maybe it was a case of 'ballet dance, or you're out'.
