My sister bought me, Pictures Of Matchstick Men for my 11th birthday in March 1968, as I liked the guitar sound of the Shadows and I thought it was them!!! Moving on to 1971 and getting into bands like T Rex, Mungo Jerry and Slade, My sister was constantly playing Dog Of Two Head and when she went out at the weekends I would borrow it and got in to Quo that way. The following year my sister persuaded my parents for her to take me to see Quo at the Harlow playhouse 05/02/72, as we were living in Harlow at the time. I can remember it being loud and to be honest I didn't enjoy it. Then towards the end of the year I first heard Paper Plane on the radio and that was it, the intro knocked me out and I was totally hooked I bought the Piledriver album from my birthday money in March 1973 By the time Caroline was released followed by the album Hello! I had started work. My next Quo gig was on the Quo Tour at Empire Pool Wembley in May 74 My first Quo gig, at my favourite venue Hammersmith Odeon, was in Dec '74 and 40 years later was my final Quo concert at the venue with the reunion tour.

Oi...you forgot to mention your 18th birthday!! ......FAO Gaz. Moving on to 1975. Down Down had been at number 1 in the UK singles chart at the end of January. My sister bought me the 'On The Level' album for my 18th birthday and was at number 1 in the UK album, when I saw the mighty Quo, in my hometown at the Southend Kursaal on 1st March......My 18th Birthday. Also in 1975, 2 Wembley Arena concerts and a New Year's Eve gig at Olympia, a great way to see out a good Quo year.
