Musically it is very difficult to say where Quo would have gone. Some of Alan's demos at the time have surfaced and they are poor, and his Quo songs in the preceding years weren't much better (as with all the group)! However, he recorded a brilliant album with the Bombers only a few years later. If only for the existence of that album, I'm quite glad that he didn't go on with Quo mk2.
Apologies for repeating myself but it's been a few years since I wrote this on a Quo forum - you can see 2 possible groups in the mid-80s:
1) Rossi Quo - Francis, Bernie Frost, Andy Bown (keys and/or bass) and Pete Kircher 2) Rock Quo - Parfitt, Lancaster, Coghlan and A.N. Other guitarist (Micky Moody could have done it). Bob could have written with this line-up.

Musically they probably would have been excellent. Some of Alan's demos at the time have surfaced and they are top notch, as were many of the songs he wrote at the time.
