oh dear, RAOTW, that really did sound like a tribute band down at the pub. It did sound like a newly recorded version. No sign of Rick in the mix, and Richie plays Rick's part of the solo slightly differently.

Anyone else think they looked more like estate agents than a rock band? Cheers

The "today's Quo can do no right." brigade are out in full force in this thread. I bet you lot were wishing for bad reviews for the new album. How's that going by the way?

I think I'm probs somewhere inbetween both your camps
I've found Quo incredibly frustrating to follow since 86. No other band could simultaneously excite me whilst making me wince
Small example. AC tour I bought a huge wall poster, a cross guitar design, very cool
At the bottom were photos of the band wearing ridiculous non-Quo like clothes. I cut that bit off before putting it up
The fanzine full quota packed in, the last straw for the writer being the sight of them on the telly in suits doing when you walk in the room. It also pained me to watch it. I found the decision of the fanzine strangely reassuring to know I wasn't alone
While the band and many of its loyal fans are clearly baffled by such criticisms, Ive watched the bands huge fanbase wither away. The bands stubborn refusal to acknowledge that image matters defies logic
Generally the bands tour adverts have been really good, almost every other type of promotion has been terrible... and damaging.
