The beginning of the song sounds interesting when the singing starts the songs gets lost.

Agreed...It would have better if you kept quiet. I get why you said that mate, ... it can be annoying as heck... but thank goodness I've learnt not to worry too much about those sort of things anymore and just let it go, not worth getting annoyed about, i'd rather use my energy on better things

If only they were borrowed from decent Status Quo songs. To be fair at this point they are unlikely to write songs I will love. We parted musically along time ago. It’s good they are playing new music. What did they replace ? Creepin', finally and I'm not sure but possibly Paper Plane was dropped also Paper Plane is the one song that, to me, never seems to get old. It proved immensely popular through the other board's "skip polls", and I can see why. If there's one song I wouldn't want to see dropped it's PP, especially considering that they're still playing SBYBIL! Anyway, I've only listened to Liberty Lane so far but quite liked it, and it's a brave move to try out new songs like that (last time they did that was 2001, right?).

Are these Rossi/Young compositions? Rossi mentioned some new songs at the end of his autobiography. He also talked about writing a song with Andy in the Classic Rock interview, and I'm sure Rhino has written stuff too... which would be OK with me, I like a balance of writers. Would be interesting to know if Richie gets allowed to contribute something too.

Two solid tracks, I can’t see where the songs gets lost when the vocals start, it must be something to do with that new singer Rossi

Lets remember it will be different on the studio album, also this isn't the best recording, it's never the same as been there at the gig. Like I said for me, they are two solid rock tracks, plenty of guitar, minimal keyboard and a reason to look forward to the forthcoming album.

I had no hopes when I saw this thread, both were better than I feared. I'll wait to pass final judgment until the studio versions are available. These are good, not great, more like less QPQ material, but no awful either.

For me CMSS is a clear rework of Solid Gold, which I won't complain too much about, because I like SG, so I am quite looking forward to hearing a studio version in the hope that they go for a driving/heavy production. Low score for lack of originality (I would like something which gave me the same sort of reaction as Dust to Gold.....sounds like Quo in heavy rock mode, but not like two or three old favourites stapled together), but, I will take this over bland pop/country offerings (spoiler alert, see next song).
LL.....yawwwnnnnn. I realised I had stopped listening half way through first time I tried to contend with its blandness. One of those songs where you hear the first couple of lines and you can predict the whole song. Close your eyes and picture a 1990s cheesy sit-com and imagine this as the title song whilst the credits role - one of those pieces of music that you are 'aware of' rather than listen to. Makes CMSS seem brilliant by comparison, which it isn't.
All that said, credit to them for playing new tracks live.
