Most of us have seen this model of raising money for musicians.
I have contributed through Pledge before. Not always the best experience of me or the artist.
But now it’s come to my attention Pledge aren’t paying out to artists due to financial issues. Instead money is being diverted to pay salaries and keep Pledge afloat.
Danny Vaughn raises over 20000 but has seen around 5000. Not enough to fund his album which he says will cost 17500.
Maybe they will iron out the problems. But I’d say be careful.

a band i follow has just pulled their pledge campaign. thankfully before the target was reached, so no ones money was taken. they have since contacted me and stated they will do it on their own if the pledgers so far commit to try again. i accepted. FYI it was Duncan Reid and The Bigheads .... and had raised 45% of the target in two days.... when the word went round about pledge being in trouble. might get my purple vinyl and signed Bass Drum skin after all.
