Features the fantastic Micky Moody of Whitesnake on lead guitar. Hadn't heard this before until I just saw it posted by "Status Quo "The Frantic Four" Reunion Tour" on Facebook. Taken from IYCSTH deluxe edition.
Marty: It's pretty.
Nigel: Yeah, I like it, just been fooling about with it for a few months now, very delicate...
Marty: It's a, it's a bit of a departure from the kind of thing you normally play.
Nigel: Yeah, it's part of a...trilogy really, a musical trilogy I'm doing... in... D minor, which I always find is really the saddest of all keys really. I don't know why, but it makes people weep instantly, you play a..baaaaa...baaaaaa.... it's the horn part.
Marty: It's very pretty.
Nigel: ...baaaa, baaaaa, yeah, just simple lines intertwining, you know very much like, I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, It's sort of in between those, really, it's like a Mach piece really, it's... Marty: What do you call this?
Nigel: Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump".
Marty: hmm.

And it rather reminds me of this. Do you think Coldplay were closet Quo fans... (not)

More like closet Motors fans as the intro from clocks is a slower cover of the instrumental break in the 1978 hit Airport.

And it rather reminds me of this. Do you think Coldplay were closet Quo fans... (not) A few bands/celebs came out in support of Quo playing at LIVE 8. We know the official line was that Quo couldn't be there at the time as the time-slot given to them was not suitable as they were gigging elsewhere. One of the things I do remember from that day is hearing Chris Martin from Coldplay singing a few lines of 'Rockin' All The World'. Think it was a tribute of sorts and acknowledgement of Quo's absence and them being missed.

Had been at Knebworth a couple of months before so possibly why I gave it a miss as had to be careful with the cabbage (as Quo would say) as a teenager back then. Saturday bill with Quo headlining, supported by The Motors, Lindisfarne and a few others. Though one of the support bands that stands out to me now were the special guests from the USA in the form of 'Spirit'. An obscure track 'Time To Fly' recorded by Quo possibly around the Ma Kelly time and later appeared on 'Fresh Quota', is thought to be a cover of the 'Spirit' track called 'So Little Time To Fly'.
