Loved the classic line-up and Brian Robertson. Shame Lemmy didn't stick with Robertson and persuade him to drop the ballet pumps! Lost interest when he went backwards.

MIKKEY DEE: "MOTÖRHEAD IS OVER"It's hardly a big surprise but Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee has confirmed that the band is over.
Lemmy had hinted in one of his final interviews in early December that the band may continue without him when he told Dave Ling in Classic Rock that if the band wanted to continue after his passing, he would not have a problem with it. However, it is now official that 'Bad Magic', the 22nd Motörhead studio album which was released on August 28th, will be the last one and there will be no more live appearances.
"Motörhead is over, of course," drummer Mikkey Dee told Sweden's Expressen newspaper. "Lemmy was Motörhead. But the band will live on in the memories of many. We will not be doing any more tours or anything. And there will not be any more records. But the fire survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone."
Motörhead's final concert took place on December 11th in Berlin, Germany.Source: metaltalk.net/news2015sg/2015296.php Sadly in the same interview he said the 'brand' will continue. Hopefully that doesn't mean they'll keep endorsing products like they did with the sex toys.

Forgive me for my oversight in this matter, but here's learning! What album should I start with? I only know AoS.... I know this is a bit of an Alan Partridge answer ("The best Beatles album was 'The best of the Beatles'") but the album that got me into Motorhead is this one:
www.discogs.com/Motorhead-Anthology/release/1144547
I got it on double vinyl when I was about 16 and played it on headphones every Friday night after getting in from the pub. Its a really great intro to the band!

Yep, that's indeed an excellent one too to get familiarised with Motorhead

You're certainly a superfan mate. I know folk wonder why people get upset over people or 'celebs' they don't know, but music is different, bands like Motörhead or Quo are a constant in our changing lives, and when they go, or a member dies, it IS emotional.

When Quo finished it was. At least they are finished for me.

To be honest I never thought it would effect me quite so much but 37 years of gigs and looking forward to the next album is a long time and it feels wrong that that is all over if you know what I mean, its been a hard couple of months with philthy leaving us as well , but Lem going was unthinkable to me and after watching and listening media, to many others as well

Motorhead's Final Munich Shows To Be Released On CD, DVD And Blu-Ray In MayThey were the Kings of the Road. They lived on it. They loved it and the fans loved them!
Never was the spirit of Motörhead more alive than when they were on tour, shake, rattle and rolling audiences to within an inch of their lives thanks to that indomitable cocktail of power, purpose and head-crunching volume. In fact, after four decades of bone-pulverizing duty, Motörhead were still enjoying sold-out gigs worldwide.
On November 20th and 21st 2015, at the Zenith in Munich, Germany, UDR Records made the decision to record what happened to be the very last live shows ever recorded and Motörhead proceeded to deliver two storming sold out shows.
Where there had once been almost too-fast breakneck pace, there was measured yet still thunderous rock n' roll served up only as they could, Phil Campbell playing better and better and Mikkey Dee elevating the art of drumming to the superlative heights which made him one of metal's most coveted skinsmen.
'Clean Your Clock' will be released on May 27th 2016. Meanwhile, Phil Campbell releases his first single as a solo artist this Friday, 1st April 2016 and we'll have full details on the day.Source: www.metaltalk.net/news2016sg/2016048.php

Always been a fan, for me the golden period was Lemmy, Eddie and Phill. The only weakish record they made was Iron Fist, all the others are classics IMO. After Eddie left they recorded some other very good records but none really came close to the first five. With you all the way, bro'. I still love Iron Fist, tho', not least for Don't let the bastards grind you down - no better motivational song than that. Whenever I need the adreneline (how the f@ck do you spell it?) pumping I play it........LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best album - Motorhead followed very closely by Overkill - two completely different types of album. The crap production on the first album was exactly right for it!
