Where is Putney anyway? Is it in the London borough of Squatney? Your cheeky comment made me curious about why this area is called that. And not from wiki, I discovered that it was once called Puttenheth, and it was a wooded village on the banks of the Thames. And it got shortened to Putney. Over in East London, Stebenheth got shortened to Stepney. Anway, its a beautiful area by the Thames. |
