Geoff. It's interesting that you should have bought No More Heroes as it had some great tracks on it but, imo, was not that great an album. As the second album, released later in '77 after Rattus Norvegicus, it was a bit of a mish mash of old tracks that didn't make it onto the first album together with some new tracks - clearly the record company wanted to maximise returns before the punk/new wave bubble burst. I thought the debut was a great album & the third album Black & White was arguably their best. Many fans were turned off by subsequent developments through the eighties as the band's musical palette seemed to expand in numerous directions at the same time & it proved impossible for everything they produced to appeal to the mass of fans they'd accrued in the '70s.

Just heard their newest in full All I can say is that I am very impressed ! For me this belongs to their best work ! For me the album also shows very clearly that a range of other bands like Helloween, Gamma Ray and quite a few more have all learned from this band.
