Fucking hell... Does she not think about her son while doing this no? I'm fully aware Rick was not an angel and made mistakes but, come on!!! If he sneezed during their marriage one of these Fuckers would sell it to the papers.. "It broke my heart when he sneezed. He never finished telling me that story because of it" Weapons Her son's is in his 40s, and I guess he's heard much worse. He might even know what she said and that the story was coming out. Still ridiculous. Rick admitted it many times that he behaved badly with her and ruined his own marriage... It's not exactly new information or eye opening. It's basically her looking to make a few quid off the back of his death.

It's basically her looking to make a few quid off the back of his death. ... They're gonna print stuff anyway. If she doesn't do an interview, they'll find some angle to make her look bad. Either way, hassle. So she's taken the option where she gets money, many people would do exactly the same.

Well, Parfitt himself was no stranger to unburdening himself to the newspapers and has had a go at his ex-wifes and others through that medium and in his autobiographies. And you're right, it's not new to fans, but may be new to those who aren't. The point is, whether they've done it for spite, honesty or cash, who cares? If it annoys you, ignore it and concentrate on the music. As it's the Daily Mail, I'm guessing next week's Parfitt's story will be an exclusive on how parfitt's infected bed sheets were sold to him by a bogus asylum seeker and that his death has caused a dip in the property prices, and helped spread cancer in the London suburbs.

I like a bit of gossip. I like to hear something about the guys whose music I worship. It puts a tiny bit of perspective on what they write. They are still humans. Perhaps it's a girl thing.
Rick wasted quite a few people and probably some opportunities, but thanks to his talent and happy chance AND the fact that in the end, he liked his work, he didn't waste his life.

I've long felt that Marietta loved him the most, I mean, was in love with him the most. She once said he looked like an archangel. (When she first met him, that was. She was much younger than Lyndsay, and didn't have the childhood background on him that Patty had. She probably saw the worst of him, but she still loves him.
BTW I doubt RPJ is appalled by all this stuff - his parents' problems affected him very badly as a child, he's been open about that, and contributed to health problems he has to this day. If I was in his position, I might be a bit relieved when some of this stuff comes out, otherwise it's like a bad thing with the lid on. Rick was not a bad person, he was just a hopeless one in some ways. There are very ordinary blokes who are not a lot different.
Hold that chord, hold that rhythm ...
Wonderful comments too ...
Patti Fearon1 year ago I just loved John's voice-it stands out from the rest. I wish he was still here & that the never aged & we didn't either. As long as we have the music we can be any age we want.

As sad as it sounds they (the wives club, ex or not) know that it's time to cash in now, strike while the irons hot and all that.
At the same time i think SQ are working on the old adage "any publicity is good publicity" whilst these ladies are perfectly within their rights to go to the papers, regardless of whether we like it or not, Rossi, Porter and co think "that's another week where the Quo name is kept in the public domain", so from their perspective everyone's a winner!
At the end of the day it's not like he went around claiming to be a devout christian who attended church every weekend meaning the band could never play gigs on a sunday! no he was Rick, and what made the man was for a big chunk of his life (like it or not) a love of alcohol, cocaine and women (preferably blond), no one reading this stuff can be genuinely shocked, which goes to prove it's just worthless tittle tattle to fill column inches.
Probably being a tad flippant and maybe it is theraputic to talk about this stuff to a load of other equally bitter and twisted individuals who read the Daily Mail and form their opinions from this repugnant publication (as you may have guessed i'm not a fan) but all it says to me is "cash in quick"
Very sad

Another story today about the death of Heidi. The comments are laying into him thick and thin, saying stuff like "Hope he is rotting in hell". We may have our grivences about certian band members but we would never stoop that low. Of course he was not perfect far from it but not everything is black and white.

I remember someone saying there was article in a newspaper back then, with Rick giving Francis grief over not ringing him about it....That's how confused and angry and hurt he must have been. Doesn't matter what those idiots say, he suffered just as much as anyone over that and thankfully, none of us would ever stoop that low

Anytime there is an article on U2 online over here, you have the same prats saying "Pay your taxes! You failed your country" ......Emmm, they live here. They do pay their taxes. You fucking moron. I wonder if these same dickheads faced the same situation as Rick did back then, how would they react? None of us know until, God forbid, it happens

Ripping his shirt open and screaming to God to show him that Heidi was ok. I get Marietta still has her faith to keep her strong not everyone can though, I have a friend who lost a daughter aged 3. He is now a firm Athiest while his wife is still a churchgoer.
