I swear i saw John on Shed and Buried today on Quest i only caught the end of episode. He and Gillie have done similar stuff in the past, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility. |

There's one of John at a mike, did he used to speak at gigs? I know he does at JCQ gigs, but I assumed Francis did all that in the FF days. I was surprised to see that photo as Francis was the only one to gibber on between songs from the times I saw them. |

I'm sure there's one Hammy gig when JC came to the mic to announce the marriage/birth of a child? of one of the crew....? perhaps that's the moment captured for posterity... either way.... fab set of photos, loved looking through them! Best band in the world.. at their best.  |

Hammersmith 79 - I was wondering about spud at the mic too -must have been a few on here who were there ? Thanks Drummer 73 for the snippet. Those photo's really do take you back . You can feel the energy, smell and imagine the tracks from them all . Brid Spa for me that year .

Love the photos - shows how much work used to go into it in them days! The reason why Spud spoke in the microphone at Hammy -79 has already been mentioned earlier in this thread. He announced that someone in the crew had become father the same day. I used to have this gig as casette tape, but it was many years since I listened to it, but I think it was late in the set, probably in the encore before BBJ. Probably (as far as I know) the only occasion ever that Spud has spoken in the mic during a Quo-gig. Great that someone happened to have a camera ready at the same time! |
