Enough of this bullshit, I've seen every incarnation of Quo since 1977 and haven't missed an Irish gig since then. Went to the gig last night with a lot of trepidation, even though it was well advertised on radio but I needn't have worried. Great crowd in the Green Room and in the Arena. True it's not the same without Parfitt but Richie stepped up and performed admirably and seems a great fit and looks to have a good repor with the rest of the guys. All in all a fantastic night so stop the whinghing. Stop the whinging? Hmm it's fascinating to me that such fans of Francis Rossi are very defensive and bite at any opportunity... Oh well, we can't all be as accepting I suppose

I'm sure for some the Stones weren't the same after Brian Jones. Fleetwood Mac for some ended with the departure of Peter Green. Equally, some might say their interest in AC/DC ended with Bon Scott's death. I know one chap who only liked pre- Bruce Dickinson Iron Maiden. & so on. For those people subsequent gigs are pointless. The same applies to Quo at different points for different people, but maybe Quo will be still going in another 50 years with a steadily evolving line-up - like the Drifters! The London Symphony Orchestra still does ok with new members. lol!

For those who think Quo stopped in 1976 please continue sitting in your darkened room clutching your signed copy of Piledriver and splashing yourself liberally from a bottle of Denim aftershave. For those who have had the temerity to move with the times what's the betting on Richie being allowed to belt out a number or two on his home territory? For enabling the tour to happen surely he deserves it, especially considering the praise being heaped on him by Francis on interviews. Also what's the betting he gets introduced as "Paddy" in Dublin? Richie is fine in a local pub band (and very average at that) and as such probably fine and up to the standard of the new Francis Rossi Quo. He could add to the vocal talents of Rhino (flat and out of tune), Bown (awful pretend high pitched female backing vocals) and Rossi who has lost his voice and sounds like a strained (or strangulated) cat a lot of the time both live and in recordings. He is no Parfitt by any stretch of the imagination and will be back in his day job very soon after a brief taste of glory. He also should take care as Rossi or his henchman Porter will drop him and stab him in the back at a whim. Enjoy the illusion and delusion whilst it lasts...it certainly ain't Quo.
